Animal Research Ethics Committee

The CNB has an Animal Research Ethics Committee that ensures compliance with the codes of good scientific practice at the centre. As part of the CSIC, it subscribes to the declaration of support for the European Directive 2010/63/EU that protects animals used in scientific research.

The CNB has adhered to the Agreement on Transparency in Animal Testing, launched on 20 September 2016. The Animal Transparency Report summarises progress in the implementation of this agreement.

The CNB is committed to a ‘culture of care’. To promote this culture of care, the CNB-CSIC is part of the transparency agreement promoted by the Confederation of Spanish Scientific Societies (COSCE) and is a member of the European Association for Animal Research (EARA).
