At the CNB animal facility we continue our efforts to implement the 3R’s (reduction, replacement and refinement) a little more each day in the daily work of the researchers. Comparing the data with those provided in mid-2024, it can be seen that the total number of registered animals continues with the same dynamics, but the total number of animals used in experimentation has decreased from 1064 animals in the first half of the year to 470 in the last six months, being a percentage decrease from 23% to 12%. Research on sensory organs continues to take the usual leading role.
